British Officer – Anna
(A Distinguished International Visit Marked by an Intellectual and Spiritual Dialogue on Consciousness, Yogic Sciences and the Timeless Wisdom of Indian Philosophy)
OOJ ASHRAM, INDIA | 25 OCTOBER 2026
In a proud and meaningful occasion for OOJ Foundation, Anna DeGrauw, Senior Policy Advisor at the London-based Centre for Disaster Protection, travelled specially from London to meet Yogi Priyavrat Animesh, Founder-President of OOJ Foundation, at OOJ Ashram today.

During her visit, Anna received the blessings of Yogi Priyavrat Animesh and engaged in an extensive intellectual and spiritual dialogue, exploring some of the most profound questions concerning human consciousness, the nature of existence and the philosophical foundations of ancient Indian yogic traditions.
The interaction centred on consciousness and the relationship between the body, mind and soul, examining the deeper significance of human awareness and the relationship between one’s external existence and inner experience.
Yogi Priyavrat Animesh shared his understanding of traditional yogic practices, including Yoga Kriyas and Mudras, illuminating their significance within the wider framework of self-awareness, inner discipline and spiritual understanding.
A particularly meaningful dimension of the discussion concerned the philosophical relationship between the beginning, middle and end of existence, opening a deeper inquiry into the nature of life, continuity, transformation and the Self (Atman) as understood within Indian philosophical traditions.
The exchange reflected an engagement with Indian spiritual thought beyond the physical practice of yoga, reaching into fundamental questions of consciousness, self-knowledge and the human search for meaning.
Anna DeGrauw brings extensive international policy experience to this encounter. At the Centre for Disaster Protection, she works on global disaster risk financing policies, including pandemic and epidemic risk, while engaging with international policy processes associated with the G20 and G7. Her professional background includes work within the United Nations system, particularly with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning.
She holds postgraduate degrees from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and SOAS University of London.
Against this international professional and academic background, her special visit to OOJ Ashram represented a significant meeting of contemporary intellectual inquiry and India’s ancient contemplative heritage.
For OOJ Foundation, the occasion carried particular pride and significance. The visit brought a professional engaged in major international policy discussions into direct dialogue with the spiritual and philosophical teachings of Yogi Priyavrat Animesh.
It also reflected the continuing relevance of India’s philosophical inheritance to individuals working across diverse fields of international public life.
The meeting stood as a distinguished moment of cultural and intellectual exchange, in which the ancient Indian inquiry into consciousness, the body, the mind and the Self found expression through a thoughtful encounter between a London-based international policy professional and an Indian spiritual teacher.
The visit concluded with Anna receiving the blessings of Yogi Priyavrat Animesh, marking a meaningful occasion for OOJ Ashram and its continuing engagement with seekers and visitors from around the world.
